Struggling to Obtain Life Insurance Due to Health Issues – Need Advice

Hello guyzz…

I’m in a difficult situation and could use some guidance. I’ve been searching for a life insurance policy for about a month now, but I’ve been denied coverage every time. I’m a 38-year-old male with several significant health issues, and I’m feeling quite overwhelmed by the process. I have Diabetes (A1C is 6.5), congestive heart failure diagnosed about 3 months ago (May 2023), and Stage 5 kidney disease. I’m not on dialysis, but my doctor recently informed me that my body seems to be rejecting the medications prescribed.

Since your body is rejecting prescribed medications, it might be helpful to discuss alternative treatments with your doctor. Improving your health can potentially impact your insurance options.

It is possible to get life insurance even if you have health problems; the premiums you pay will depend on a number of criteria, including your lifestyle, the type and severity of your ailment, how it is managed, and the particular life insurance policy you choose.

Different kinds of life insurance policies are available to meet different needs. A thorough medical examination is usually required for traditional life insurance underwriting. Health problems may produce in higher premiums, but they don’t always mean that coverage will be denied.

Indeed. Your health difficulties may result in an outright rejection or higher premiums than for a healthy individual of the same age and gender.

Request a conversation with the underwriter from the insurance agent rather than submitting a complete application. To receive a preliminary assessment on whether the company would accept you or not, send them all of your medical data. In this manner, nothing about your rejection history will exist on your record.

It’s usually so common that Insurance companies either deny or delay/postpone issuing insurance to people with health issues. I’d suggest that you try and get treated first, feel better and then proceed to find an insurance company that can do a group policy, they can enroll you to a group of other people with health issues then issue a policy based NOT on your health alone but on the average health of a group.
