Medical exams for life insurance

Has anyone ever had to get a medical exam for life insurance? What was it like? How long after applying did you need to complete it? Did they still accept if you had weird results?

They check your pulse and blood pressure, listen to your lungs with a stethoscope, and draw blood for standard lab tests.

What unusual results are you worried about? Do you have blue Vulcan blood?

How much life insurance are you considering? Larger policies might require more tests.

A little marijuana here and there. So a bit worried about that. It is legal in my state but i wouldn’t consider myself a heavy smoker, just some puffs here and there… i dont drink. I applied for a (roughly) $250,000 policy.

My process was very non-invasive. They only did a blood draw and checked my vital signs. I scheduled it when the insurance company asked me to, and a nurse called me to arrange it.

I assume you had no problem afterwards?

I applied and had someone come to my house a few days later. Got my weight. BP. Blood draw. Straightforward and simple

A good idea to disclose your marijuana if they asked you about it on the application.

I really didn’t ask that. But thanks for zero help with answering my question

You mentioned weird results. If you’re concerned about marijuana use, it should’ve been disclosed on the app if they asked.

If you read any of my previous replies, I don’t smoke. Just a puff here and there. The question explicitly said, “are you a heavy smoker” to which I replied no because a “puff” is not heavy. If they had a question like “did you ever smoke” now thats a bit different. The wording of the question is absolutely questionable.

Then you should not have anything to worry about if they didn’t ask about it. Nor should you test positive for it if you have “just a puff here and there”
