Is this life insurance firm owned by anyone? My fiance works at a grocery shop and is eligible for union benefits. It is me that handles all of the paperwork. I filled out the life insurance form that came in the mail for him because I handle the paperwork. They have been phoning repeatedly a day to discuss it ever since they received it. I am a procrastinator, so when I did eventually contact them back, they wanted to schedule a Zoom meeting with my fiancé and me. I continue to believe that it was related to his union perks from his job at the grocery shop at this time. We conducted the Zoom call today. My fiancé is very eager when it comes to this kind of stuff, so he questioned how long it would take. When we start, I might ask him, I said. He was really irritated since the dummy did not and it took from 12:30 to 3:00. So we start our appointment and he’s going over life insurance, accidental death, how we could still receive a check up to year if one of us passed, ect other benefits.
I am starting to see that it has nothing to do with his current union and is a different corporation. So we listen as the appointment is going on, then informs us we need to see if we qualify since it’s not assured, ultimately it’s going to cost almost $200 a month. I am thinking, "Okay, I am annoyed. I assumed it was something to do with his union. I had no idea how long it would take or how much money it would cost.
We share a single account for our funds, therefore I did not even bring this up to my fiancé before. I ultimately decide to move through with everything. Right now, all I want to do is cancel everything. However, I do not want to bother my fiancé by making him spend hours discussing it with me before canceling. I would much rather use the $200 a month to pay off debt and perhaps enroll when we are older, a few years from now. It’s not like this stuff is gonna go away. My question is what has been your experience with this company? Do the advantages justify the cost? Additionally, a portion of our copay will be deducted. I guess I feel cheated because I honestly believed it was a benefit of his union and did not have time to look up this firm, read reviews, or do anything else. To be honest, he would not even know that I canceled, so I am not sure if I should even inform him. then let him know we are renewing it in a few years? What are your thoughts, guys? As previously said, he works for a union with benefits, and he and I both have second jobs with the school district, so we already have excellent health insurance and a life insurance policy from them. Right now, I am not sure what to do. Need some comments on the firm & your experience, if the payment is worth it. Regards
