Life insurance help

I am searching for a joint spouse life insurance for my husband and i.

I prefer to pick out quotes online myself and not have to call an agent

Im a visual person and like to see prices myself and compare.

Any companies that allow you to do it yourself online without calling or getting a medical exam?

They would be much more expensive than the ones where you call an agent and get a medical exam, as without them, the company has to assume you are unhealthier than you are.

Prudential offers up to $3 million without a medical exam, and I believe Penn goes up to $10 million. Banner has one of the most affordable options and offers up to $2 million without an exam.

These days, you usually don’t need a medical exam unless you’re older or looking for a large amount of coverage.

There are joint life permanent policies available. Is that what you’re looking for? Term joint policies are rare and usually more expensive than separate ones.

You can get quotes online, but an agent will still be involved, even with companies like Ethos and Policy Genius, which are agencies.

You can do most of the process without talking to anyone or getting bombarded by agents. Find an online independent agency and email them your needs.

They can send you several quotes from different carriers, list the pros and cons, and let you review everything at your own pace.

Often, the first time I talk with a client is when we complete the eApp. The product, carrier, and policy design are usually decided through email.

Are you sure you want a joint policy? The large majority available in the market pay the claim benefits after both insured are deceased and are permanent insurance type products only.

There are plenty of joint life products available outside of New York. You can find both limited and fully guaranteed options. Some of these policies also offer strong cash value accumulation, with certain carriers even offering variable life insurance for those who prefer a more aggressive approach.

A joint policy costs less than a single life policy. Are you looking for the death benefit and any living benefits to apply only after the second spouse passes away? Depending on your age and the coverage amount you want, you might be able to skip accelerated underwriting. However, to find the best policy for your needs, it’s a good idea to work with an agent. It’s not just about comparing prices, which are usually the same. Your agent should provide all the information with clear illustrations and explain everything thoroughly.

Do you dislike the sales tactics you encounter when talking to agents?

Some agents will send you quotes by email, but they need to discuss your needs and health questions first.

I’ve had clients like this before, and I appreciated their honesty. They wanted quotes without any sales pressure. I sent them quotes and scheduled a time to call back if they wanted to apply. Some bought policies, while others just wanted to compare options.

I recommend finding an independent broker who can get quotes from multiple insurance companies.

Set a monthly budget you can afford and consider different options for death benefits—low, medium, and high.

Don’t feel tied to a joint policy; it might not offer the best price or meet your needs.
