I tell them I sell life, health, and annuity products.

Avoid using fancy terms. Just be honest and straightforward. If you have to trick someone into meeting with you, they won’t stay as clients for long anyway.

Tell them you’re a life insurance agent and keep it simple. Build genuine relationships and rapport, and sales will follow.

I hire and train remote insurance agents. It depends on who asks me about my job. I usually just say I work in insurance sales and move on. It’s a great job, so I don’t worry too much about it. Not many jobs let you be in a room where the doctor isn’t the richest person there! It’s a good question, and I’ll think of a better way to explain it.

I help people transfer wealth in the most tax-efficient way.

I’m not focused on transactions, so I don’t bring up any products. Even with clients, I wait until the second or third meeting to discuss products.
