I went through a similar situation. When they asked about previous denials, I decided to be honest. It felt better to give accurate information than risk issues down the line. Good luck with your application.
The answer is “yes” because they might find out, and it’s important to be truthful. If you don’t mind me asking, how old are you, and do you have any major health issues? Just trying to understand why you were denied.
I’m 33, and I do have a health issue which I disclosed to both parties.
I guess my question is was the application I submitted to Zander a true application, or just a screening? Since Zander does not provide insurance themselves, and it was marketed as not requiring a medical exam.
I just filled it out to see what would happen, never actually talked to anyone on the phone or received a quote. I don’t think I actually applied for anything
Some companies that do internet marketing have internal processes where they decide which carriers to send applications to and aim to place people in certain risk categories. They may not have even submitted your application, just based on their own assessment. It might have just been a screening, but I’m not sure.
Definitely answer “yes” to the question about previous denials on your Farmer’s application. Honesty is always the best policy when it comes to insurance.
At 33 it’s nearly impossible to be denied outright. Even with medical concerns there should be ways to apply with potentially graded policies, further underwriting, or other carriers. Seems a bit silly but some carriers are acceptable with certain risks and some carriers aren’t. If you need some help feel free to reach out but unless you’re 90 years old and basically dead as it is, you shouldn’t be impossible to insure. Maybe the result won’t make sense to insure the risk but I can help ya navigate if you need a hand
