Hi friends,
I have just over 100k life insurance through my work, but considering additional insurance. I’m a AAA member and get notifications all the time from them. Are they good or can anyone recommend alternatives?
Hi friends,

I’m responding to get notifications for other replies. I’ve also received offers from AAA and others and have the same question.
I haven’t worked with them personally, but their prices don’t seem very competitive. I recommend shopping around with a broker. If you’re young and healthy, Legal & General and Brighthouse are often good options.
You could probably get a cheaper rate if you go else where. Couldn’t speak to the service of AAA. But if you like the company, go for it!
As an independent agent contracted with multiple life insurance carriers, it’s always best to ask around and shop for the options that best meet your needs.
I’m also an AAA member and have looked into this before. Surprisingly, their prices aren’t the cheapest.
They were about 20% higher than the least expensive option and 10% higher than the companies I usually recommend.
As others suggested, consider talking to an independent agent. You don’t pay them directly; insurance companies compensate us to help you find the best plan and coverage.
Also, if you’re not paying for insurance through your paycheck, remember that your company might change or stop offering that benefit. This is why my clients often don’t factor in company-paid life insurance when planning.
