Help Needed to Track Down My Life Insurance Policy

Hello folks…

I’m in a bit of a situation and could use some help. My parents took out a life insurance policy on me when I was a child, but they have since lost the paperwork and don’t remember the company they purchased it through.

Is there a way for me to track down where this policy might be? I’m located in Indiana, so if there are any specific steps or resources I should look into, I’d really appreciate any guidance!

Thanks in advance for your help

Check with the Indiana Department of Insurance; they might help you track it down. You can also try reaching out to major insurance companies directly, as they sometimes keep records of policies issued in the past.

Great suggestions. @DoctorLiz you can also use the NAIC’s policy locator service and look through any old paperwork or tax returns for clues. It’s worth checking all possible avenues to track down that policy.
