I actually went through the Ethos application process last year. It was very user-friendly and I got approved the same day. Their customer service was helpful when I had questions about my policy.
It seems that Ethos functions as an online aggregator or broker. However, what really matters is your confidence in the insurance company backing your policy.

I concur. Whichever of the top four is my choice. NY Life, Guardian, MassMutual, or Northwestern Mutual.
